Phil Latessa Leaves A Legacy of Inspiring International Impact

With very heavy hearts, we share that Phil Latessa has passed away.⁠

Empower Tanzania lost an amazing leader, and Phil will be incredibly missed by so many people around the world. As one of our founding members, former Executive Director, and Board President, Phil led Empower Tanzania as a force for good with unwavering guidance and empowers us to continue our mission. Phil visited Tanzania over 30 times and was made honorary chief of two tribes of Maasai. He touched countless lives through his international impact and leaves an inspiring legacy.⁠ We will be eternally grateful for the change he created in Tanzania and beyond!⁠
